A Norwalk resident was one of five people killed by an alleged drunk driver in Nevada this weekend.
Genaro Fernandez, 41, was identified by the Clark County coroner.
Fernandez was in a van with six other people on Interstate 15 about 80 miles north of Las Vegas early Saturday when their vehicle was hit from behind by an SUV.
The SUV’s driver, 18-year-old Jean Soriano, was arrested on charges of drunk drivers. Authorities said they found beer bottles inside Soriano’s vehicle.
The other victims were identified as 49-year-old Raudel Fernandez-Avila and 53-year-old Belen Fernandez, both of Lynwood; and 13-year-old Angela Sandoval and 45-year-old Leonardo Fernandez-Avila, both of Los Angeles.
