Police officials said today that Monday’s shooting that left two people wounded was not a random act of violence.
Lt. Mark McDaniel of the Downey Police Department said the victims, who remain hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, were likely targeted.
Police dispatchers received several 911 calls at 4:06 p.m. Monday regarding a traffic collision on the 11500 block of Old River School Rd. involving a vehicle that crashed into a parked car before careening into an empty garage.
Officers discovered two men inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
