A Downey man who taught at a Los Angeles charter school was sentenced to two years in prison last week after pleading no contest to sexually abusing four students.
Prosecutors charged Juan Ramon Cardoza, 56, with committing lewd acts on four girls – ages 13 and 14 – at New Designs Charter School in Los Angeles.
The alleged abuse occurred at the school between January 2010 and March 2013.
Judge Eleanor Hunter also ordered Cardoza to register as a sex offender for life.
A restitution hearing is set for April 2.
