Wi-Fi may be coming to City Hall
WRITTEN BY :   Eric Pierce

Council members on Tuesday will consider spending $500 a month to equip City Hall with wireless internet.

According to a proposal by Time Warner, visitors at City Hall could get high-speed internet access at no cost for up to two hours. After that, non-Time Warner customers are charged $2.95 per hour.

Time Warner also agreed to give the city 20 user accounts with no time restrictions.

Time Warner’s deal requires a two-year commitment, but they would supply and install all necessary hardware at no additional cost.

The proposal is on Tuesday night’s City Council agenda. Meeting time is 6:30 p.m.
