Five things to know this Monday morning:
1.) A man "running in circles" on the 105 Freeway in Downey was struck and killed early yesterday morning.
The man, who has not been publicly identified, was struck by a 50-year-old Riverside woman driving a Honda Odyssey. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
2.) Emely Lopez was crowned Miss Downey Saturday night at the Downey Theatre.
Emely, who graduated from Warren High last year, is already a great ambassador for Downey. She was president of Girl's League, member of the Downey Youth Commission, and a student ambassador for the Downey Arts Coalition.
She currently works at Downey Federal Credit Union while pursuing a degree at Cal State Long Beach.
4.) Volunteers are needed for the Carnival of Champions at Warren high on April 30.
Various shifts are available from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Email WarrenPTSA@gmail.com for details.
I'll let you know when the episode airs.
