Five things to know this Monday morning: 

1.) A 22-year-old Downey man died Saturday after drowning off the coast of San Diego. 

Azfar Alam was unconscious when he was pulled from the La Jolla Cove. A teenage girl also was found unresponsive, but she survived.

2.) If you receive a call purportedly from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department threatening a $2,000 fine due to missed jury duty, it's a scam

3.) Auditors with state Homeland Security visited the Downey Fire Department last week. 

4.) Century 21 My Real Estate is collecting donations for an Aug. 1 sidewalk sale, with proceeds benefiting Easter Seals.

5.) The Downey Arts Coalition has moved its next open house to Tuesday, July 28, at the Epic Lounge.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. and will include an improv comedy short by Forrest Hartl.
