Tuesday morning report, April 26

Five things to know this Tuesday morning: 

1.) The City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. tonight. Here is the agenda

Council members will consider a couple of zone changes, including at Firestone Boulevard and Pangborn Avenue to accommodate a Jack in the Box, and 11434 Downey Avenue and 8037 Iowa Street, for medical offices

2.) Downey school board member Martha Sodetani will be presented the Mayor's Distinguished Citizen Award tonight. 

3.) Downey Master Chorale announced it is partnering with the Da Capo Players, a small chamber ensemble from Costa Mesa, for its May 22 concert. 

The concert will take place at Cornerstone Christian Worship Center in Downey. Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for students and seniors.

4.) The new Starbucks at Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard opened over the weekend.
