Five things to know this Tuesday morning: 

1.) Yesterday's funeral for Downey police officer Ricky Galvez attracted law enforcement officers from throughout the country. The service was streamed live online and filled the entire Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

2.) California Pizza Kitchen is hosting a fundraiser today and tomorrow to benefit Galvez's family. 

When you purchase a meal at any Southern California CPK restaurant and show the above flyer, 20% of the meal total will be donated to Galvez's family.

4.) Downey High's Counseling Department is seeking local professionals to participate in its second annual career breakfast Thursday, Dec. 17, from 8:30-10 a.m. in the gym. 

The school needs 100 professionals to speak with Downey High seniors as they prepare for future college and career plans. If you can participate, contact Pam Morse at (562) 869-7301, ext. 5512, or pmorse@dusd.net. 

5.) The Downey Historical Society will host its annual open house Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Dismukes House will be open for tours.
