2.) Meanwhile, the Downey Arts Coalition is also seeking writers and visual and performing artists to participate in its 5-year anniversary Feb. 27.

The celebration will take place from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Epic Lounge. The event coincides with the DAC's next general meeting.

3.) Chick-fil-A is hiring. Applications are available in the restaurant.

4.)  Jimmy John's is opening at the Downey Landing, taking the spot previously occupied by Quizno's. They are currently hiring for assistant managers, sandwich makers and delivery drivers.

5.) Tickets are on sale for the Gangs Out of Downey luncheon, taking place March 9.

GOOD has created a scholarship in memory of fallen Downey police officer Ricky Galvez, and the first scholarship will be presented at the luncheon.
