Tuesday morning report, June 7

Five things to know this Tuesday morning:

1.) In this YouTube video, Downey High faculty provide college advice to graduating seniors.

2.) Here's a cute video of 12-year-old Downey resident and Mariah Carey superfan Analise Hoveyda, who cried for an hour after learning she would see Mariah in concert.

Analise is a talented singer in her own right

3.) From the Daily Mirror: "Karen Carpenter's Demons Uncovered in Fascinating Documentary" (thank you Kathy Perez for the link).

4.) The George Whitmore High School All Star baseball game takes place this Friday at 6 p.m. at Downey High.

Organized by Kiwanis, the game will feature the best players from the Moore League and San Gabriel Valley League facing each other.

Admission is only $3 ($1 for students), with proceeds benefiting Kiwanis.

5.) These surveys are fun as long as you don't take them too seriously, but Downey is ranked No. 54 on a list of most stressed out California cities.
