Wednesday morning report, March 2

Five things to know this Wednesday morning: 

1.) Habitat for Humanity is seeking permission to build six condominium units at 9303 Elm Vista Drive, which would be offered to families with low or moderate incomes.

The Planning Commission will consider the request tonight. 

As proposed, each condo would be two stories with an attached two-car garage, and enough room for a private patio. The architecture is described as "ranch style."

City planners have endorsed the project, saying it will "benefit the area and community as a whole." 


2.) Ice cream shop Creamistry will be opening at the northeast corner of Downey Avenue and Firestone Boulevard, according to Mayor Alex Saab. The space is currently occupied by a women's clothing store. 

"Creamistry is a unique ice cream shop that creates the ice cream with liquid nitrogen right before your eyes," Saab said on Facebook
