NOTICE INVITING BIDS

LYNWOOD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lynwood Unified School District, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as “District”, will receive prior to 11:00 a.m. on the 25th day of April, 2024 sealed Bids for the award of a Contract for the following:

BID NO. 18MAR24-SM;

Removal & Replacement HVAC Side Mount Units at Lindbergh, Mark Twain, Washington, Wilson Elementary and Firebaugh High School

Scope of Work Overview: Bidder must be able to provide all management, labor, subcontractors, equipment, and miscellaneous materials for operable installation of District Owned - New Side Mount HVAC Units.

The contract time is anticipated to be 75 (Seventy-Five) consecutive calendar days.

This Project is being let in accordance with the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (“UPCCAA”) (specifically, the formal Bidding procedures in Section 22032(c)).

Prequalification is required for this project.

As a condition of bidding for this Project, and in accordance with California Public Contract Code section 20111.5, prospective Bidders are required to submit to the District a completed set of prequalification documents on forms provided by the District. Bids will not be accepted if a Bidder has not been prequalified. Prequalification documents are available on website https://www.mylusd.org/apps/pages/bids-and-BIDs

Prequalification documents must be submitted by April 18, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. [not less than five days prior to Bid opening date]. Bidders will be notified by email of their prequalification status within a reasonable period of time after submission of their prequalification documents, but not less than one day prior to the Bid opening date.

The successful Bidder must possess a valid and active State of California Class “B” License at the time of Bid and throughout the duration of this Contract. Subcontractors shall be licensed pursuant to California law for the trades necessary to perform the Work called for in the Bid documents.

All Bidders and their subcontractors must be registered and approved by the State of California Department of Industrial Relations in order to bid on this project.

If this Project includes work that will be performed by mechanical, electrical or plumbing (“MEP”) subcontractors (contractors that hold C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43 or C-46 licenses), such MEP subcontractors must also be prequalified. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that all MEP subcontractors holding any of the licenses listed above are properly prequalified before submitting a bid. This prequalification requirement applies even if the subcontractor will perform, or is designated to perform, work that does not require one of the licenses listed above, but the subcontractor holds one of the licenses listed above.

NOTE: Respondents who assisted in the preparation of getting materials or the Scope of Work for solicitation documents of this BID will NOT be eligible to compete for the award work because they will have an undue advantage to all others.

There will be a Mandatory Pre-Bid Site Walk on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Firebaugh High School main entrance located at 5246 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd., Lynwood, CA 90262. Any Bidder bidding on the Project who fails to attend the entire mandatory Pre-Bid site walks will be deemed a non-responsive Bidder and will have its Bid returned unopened.

The bid and all requirements, instructions and associated documents will be emailed directly to those who attended the mandatory pre-bid site walk.
