Downey football lost it's final home game of the season 35-10 against the visiting Lynwood Knights Friday at Allen Layne Stadium.
The Vikigns managed to force a safety in the first quarter and didn't score a touchdown until the latter half of the fourth quarter.
Lynwood managed to move the ball all over the field and manage the clock well, ultimately dooming the Vikings' chances of a San Gabriel Valley League championship.
Turnovers were also a big part of the loss with quarterback Steven Cervantes being picked off multiple times during the game.
This is the second straight year that Lynwood has defeated Downey. The Vikings are now 2-2 and can only tie for a share of second place in league.
