DOWNEY- The Downey High Varsity Football team opened their season with a scrimmage against California & Brea Olinda on Friday Sept. 4 at Brea Olinda High School. The Vikings played 26 rounds of offense and defense, with standout performances from quarterback Steven Cervantes, linebackers Steven Williams and Matt Mazone, and the rest of the offensive and defensive line. No official score was taken, yet head coach Will Capps commends his team for being well prepared on the offense and an aggressive defense.
