Internet broadcasts of meetings to continue

DOWNEY - City Council and Planning Commission meetings will continue to stream live on the Internet after the city extended its contract with Web host Granicus Inc. this week.City meetings have been available for viewing on the Internet since 2007 at a monthly cost to the city of $1,525. Two cameras mounted inside council chambers record and stream meetings live on the city's website. Meetings are catalogued online by date and can be viewed anytime. The city explored changing Web hosts for a potential cost savings but determined its contract with Granicus offered the best deal, city officials said.
