Church hosts Cajun performance for kids

DOWNEY - A Cajun shack in the middle of a foggy Louisiana swamp, frogs croaking, ducks swimming, crawfish boiling and music driven by the Cajun fiddle and accordion all serve as a backdrop for the children's program, "Discovery Bayou," to be performed at Desert Reign Church in Downey next weekend.Scott and Marci Crosby, of Abbeville, La., are directing the program. The Crosby's have traveled extensively across the Untied States and Canada in both children and adult ministry, and are frequent speakers at youth camps and church conventions. "Discovery Bayou" entertains kids with songs, skits and puppet characters such as Junyah and the Swamp Poppers and Professor Megawatts. Children also participate in various quizzes and contests. "Discovery Bayou" will be performed July 19 at 2:30 p.m. and July 21 at 9:45 a.m. For more information, call (562) 861-6011.
