Credit union launches P2P mobile payment

DOWNEY - Financial Partners Credit Union has launched a mobile application that allows its members to transit funds via their smartphones without sharing financial information.The technology, aptly named Send Money, is powered by PayPal and is contained within Financial Partners' mobile banking app. All members need is the recipient's e-mail address or cell phone number to send funds to anyone using the Send Money service. Funds can be sent to 190 markets and in 25 currencies around the world. "To stay ahead of the curve in the payments space, and provide our members with greater convenience, we implemented this highly convenient P2P [person-to-person] service within the FPCU mobile banking app," said Financial Partners president and CEO Nader Moghaddam. "Adding P2P to our robust mobile offering, which already includes mobile deposit and bill pay, lets our users know we understand the needs of their busy, on-the-go lifestyles."
