Downey oil painter to demonstrate work

DOWNEY - Elsa Van Leuven, a talented artist who has performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Opera and Downey Symphony Orchestra, will be guest demonstrator when the Downey Art League and Traditional Artist's Guild of Paramount meet Saturday at Progress Park Plaza in Paramount.The meeting begins at 2 p.m. and is free. In addition to music, Van Leuven is also a talented oil artist. Her paintings hang throughout the U.S., Canada and England, including in local Southern California galleries. She currently teaches in adult education in La Mirada. Progress Park is at 15530 Downey Ave.
