Grill maker relocates to Downey

DOWNEY - Lynx Grills, a manufacturer of luxury outdoor grills and appliances, will relocate from Commerce to Downey this fall, Downey officials announced.Lynx will occupy a 125,000 square feet facility at 7300 Flores St. on the western boundaries of Downey. The company will initially employ about 200 people but that number could rise to more than 400. Started in 1996, Lynx is perhaps best known for its Sedona by Lynx brand of grills, carried by the Home Depot. "The city of Downey is an ideal location for Lynx because of its proximity to transportation hubs and access to a talented and educated workforce," said Lynx CEO James Buch. "We look forward to many productive years at our new factory."
