Guantanamo Bay

Dear Editor:President Obama campaigned in 2008 to close Guantanamo Bay in one year but did not keep his promise. Then Congress created a bill stating that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is accused of planning the Sept. 11 attacks, could not leave Guantanamo without their permission. Then Obama signed this bill, meaning he agrees with it. About 166 men are held without a trial. Now about 100 are on a hunger strike. Mr. Khalid has been waiting for a trial for more than 10 years. This all sounds like another country, not America. Mike Sandoval Downey
