Tierra Luna is American

Dear Editor:Had to chuckle over a statement made in a letter to your newspaper. In "Shuttle Mock Up," a letter written by Mr. Sandoval in the May 23rd issue, he stated that Tierra Luna, the name of the new mall, is not American! In every school book on geography, the American continent encompasses Alaska, Canada, United States, Mexico, Central America and all the countries of South America. Spanish is spoken in these countries to some degree if not totally. Cross either border of Mexico or Canada, and the statement requested is "United States citizen," not "American citizen" for the same reason. If you want to say it in English, "Moon's Soil," which comes from England, fine, but Tierra Luna is American. Vince Diaz Downey
