Long Beach police officer arrested

LONG BEACH - A former Long Beach police officer will be arraigned Friday on conspiracy charges after she allegedly provided confidential information to a relative who is a reputed gang member.Prosecutors allege that while Yvonne Robinson was employed as a Long Beach police officer, she conspired with Prentice Jones, an active member of the Baby Insane Gang (BIG), to obstruct several investigations, including a murder investigation involving BIG members. Jones is the brother of Robinson's brother-in-law. Both Robinson and Jones were arrested by Long Beach Police on Dec. 5. If convicted, they each face up to six years in prison.
