Caribbean band next up at Furman Park

DOWNEY – Upstream, a regional band that plays Caribbean music – namely reggae, calypso, So Cal and steel drum music – will perform a free concert Wednesday at Furman Park. According to a press release, Upstream has “mesmerized audiences throughout the world and brought many to kneel at their alter of ultimate enjoyment. With a multi-talented lineup of some of the most experienced and enlightened musicians in their camp, they continue to spread joy to an unsuspecting public.”

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Eligible Downey residents ages 50 can request a ride from Downey Dial-A-Ride. Applications are available at the Transit Department.
