Mary R. Stauffer Middle School

A ceremony to recognize the renaming of West Middle School to Mary R. Stauffer Middle School will take place this Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the cafeteria. “In the history of the community, it can be argued that no other private citizen has done more for the city of Downey, the Downey Unified School District, and the children of Downey than Dr. Mary Stauffer,” DUSD officials said.

The public is invited to the ceremony, particularly past Stauffer Scholars and award recipients.
