Story Time for babies, toddlers

DOWNEY – A new Story Time for babies and toddlers begins this Saturday at the Downey City Library. “It is never too early to start reading with your baby,” library officials said. “Research has shown that children who are read to at an early age develop stronger vocabularies and language skills.

“We will share Eric Carle’s ‘The Very Ready Reading Program.’ Experience his ‘7 Days, 7 Ways’ philosophy of reading fun by sharing books, sounds, words, rhymes, songs, stories and playtime.”

The program begins Saturday and runs through Dec. 13 every Saturday (except Oct. 18) from 9:15-9:45 a.m. at the library. The program is designed for children no more than 2 years old and their parents or caregivers (no groups or schools).
