Victor Koast to exhibit at Stay Gallery

DOWNEY − Artist Victor Koast will be showing new paintings and illustrations in his first ever solo exhibit at Stay Gallery, titled “Good Karma.” The opening reception will take place Friday, Aug. 1, from 8 pm to midnight, and will be on display until Wednesday, Aug. 20. The exhibit is sponsored by streetwear brand Us Versus Them.

In collaboration with Us Versus Them, a limited edition t-shirt featuring Victor’s artwork will be available during the opening reception. Signed posters and all artwork displayed will be for sale.

The event is suitable for all ages and open to the public.

Victor was raised in the Coachella Valley and began experimenting with graffiti in high school, which became the first form of art that he turned his attention to. After graduating, he pursued a graphic design major in college but soon dropped out, unaware that 10 years later he would be involved in the design and development of various companies.

In 2010, Victor began working on his personal project, Parafloyd Co. He focused on designing streetwear inspired clothing, but the brand itself didn’t gain the traction he aimed for. Instead, the artwork he created for Parafloyd Co. garnered the attention of many in the industry, and it soon lead to designing for brands such as Us Versus Them.

Victor’s artwork is inspired by his many years dabbling with graffiti, his love affair with typography, skulls, caffeine, and his family.

He currently resides with his family in Los Angeles and is a full time artist for San Francisco streetwear brand Rebel8.
