Woman’s Club’s May events

DOWNEY – The Woman’s Club of Downey has released its May schedule of events: On May 7 at 11:30, the club will hold its general meeting with entertainer Gloria Haslam presenting a musical program of popular Broadway show tunes.

On May 10 is the club’s spring fashion show featuring exclusive styles by Drapers and Damons. Tickets are $35.

On May 15, club member Adele Burger will be honored as the club’s Volunteer of the Year at the Downey Coordinating Council dinner.

Finally, on May 19, the club will play bunco starting at 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Downey Symphony’s Music in the Schools program and Friends of the Downey City Library.
