COMPTON - A California Highway Patrol officer from Compton was arrested Tuesday and charged in the shooting death of her husband nearly two years earlier.Tomiekia Johnson fatally shot Marcus Lemons as the couple was exiting the 91 Freeway in Compton in February 2009. Johnson claimed she shot Lemons in self-defense after he began beating her during a violent argument. After shooting her husband, Johnson allegedly drove to her parents' home less than a mile away. Her parents called 911. Lemons's co-workers and family expressed doubt in Johnson's story, describing him as a "peaceful man who would never hit his wife." Prosecutors said it took two years to file charges against Johnson due to an extensive investigation. Johnson was charged with murder Tuesday. She is being held on $2 million bail.
