DOWNEY - Downey Federal Credit Union has collected more than $1,700 since launching its DFCU Cares program in January. The program allows members to choose one of three preselected charities to donate $5 of their new membership fee. A group of DFCU managers visited the organizations last month to present checks totaling six months' worth of donations. SEAACA received $710, Arc $670 and Downey PTA HELPS $350.
