Dangerous turn

Dear Editor:There have been many complaints about the snug, inadequate parking at the new Downey Gateway food court but I haven't noticed anyone take note of a related danger: drivers turning left from the parking lot onto Downey Avenue. Not only are drivers crossing two lanes of traffic to complete this dangerous turn, but often times they only make it halfway and end up blocking traffic heading south on Downey Avenue. A similar situation exists outside Pep Boys on Lakewood Boulevard, with cars attempting to turn left (north) onto Lakewood. I propose the city make left turns illegal from the parking lot onto Downey Avenue and Lakewood. This will help traffic and probably prevent an accident, if there hasn't been one already.
