Traditional songs and dances are performed by men and women in colorful, elaborate tribal regalia. The pow wow at CSUDH will feature exhibition and social dancing, singing, Native American arts and crafts, and traditional cuisine will be sold. "There are traditional, sacred beliefs behind everything we do out there," said Ben Wolf, a descendant of Kiowa chiefs and a CSUDH student who is helping to organize the pow wow. "It may look like a social event, because it is. But there is a lot of history behind it." The event is free and parking is $4. For more information, call (310) 243-2438 or visit
