Mary A. Johnston

Mary A. Johnston, 86, was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sep. 4, 1926 and passed away at her home in Downey on Aug. 31, 2013, her beloved mother's birthday. She was a resident of Downey for over 50 years. She and her husband, Donald would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this month.Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved God, her family, and keeping her loved ones well fed. She was very much loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Donald Johnston, of Downey and her three devoted children Dianne (Irvin) Pearce of Arroyo Grande, Calif., John "Jack" (Teri) Johnston of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Richard (LeAnne) Johnston of Henderson, Nev. She also leaves four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, her siblings Rose Tawney of Santa Clarita, Calif. and Frank (Jean) Arena of Hemet, Calif., and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
