Whittier man killed in driveby

WHITTIER - Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Sunday, Sept. 1 in the 6100 block of Pioneer Boulevard in unincorporated Whittier.At approximately 10:06 p.m., Pico Rivera Station deputies responded to a call of a "gunshot victim." Upon their arrival, they discovered the 45 year-old male victim lying in the front yard of his residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to several witnesses, the victim, along with his wife and another couple, were in the front yard of the victim's residence when a white-colored sedan drove north on Pioneer Boulevard. As the car drove past the victim's house, someone from inside the car shot at the individuals standing in the front yard, striking the victim. The car continued north on Pioneer Boulevard toward Whittier Boulevard and out of view. The others in the front yard were not injured.
