DOWNEY - Nine local teens were selected last month as “crew members” for the Teen Life of Style Crew at Lakewood, Los Cerritos and Stonewood Centers.

The nine were selected from 25 semi-finalists at three back-to-school fashion shows on Aug. 22, 23 and 24.

The members include: Brian Peterson of Downey; Marlene Castillo of Downey; Angelica Staves of Inglewood; Cailee Workman of Lakewood; Sunnie Mao of Lakewood; Joseph Szekula of Long Beach; Lauren Alvarez of La Palma; Stanley Doeum of Long Beach; and Tiffany Ford of Long Beach.

They group each received $250 shopping center gift cards and will serve as the teen spokespersons and stylists for the three centers.

Their fashion tips for teens also appear monthly in this newspaper.
