DOWNEY – A local doctor is in custody today, facing a felony charge after being accused last week of molesting a 16-year-old patient, Downey police said.

Dr. Joseph Egnoto, 69, was arrested last Wednesday after the teenage girl reported to Downey police on January 15 that she had been molested by her psychotherapist in the city of Downey.

Detectives initiated an investigation which resulted in the arrest of Egnoto, a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in family counseling. Egnoto operates a private practice in both Downey and from his home in Harbor City.

Egnoto was charged with a felony for child molestation and is being held at the Los Angeles County Jail on $1 million bail.

Anyone with information regarding this case, or has information of similar incidents involving Egnoto, may contact Detective Jeff Hill at (562) 904-2335 or Sgt. Brian Baker at (562) 904-2304.

Justice in America ? No. The courts have created the easiest scam, allowing people to profit, and or "get even", destroy people's lives, by making an accusation. It's not important if it's true or not, and no evidence is required, the person is automaticly guilty. It doesn't matter if the accused is innocent, their life has been completely destroyed forever, nor will ever recover from the finacial ruin. All because of a lie, and financial greed. No there isn't justice for the falsly accused. But but there is God's justice on Judgement Day. And to those who feel it's ok to destroy people's lives by lying, I pray God wrath on your lives.
