A 17-year-old boy is recovering today after being shot twice yesterday at Wilderness Park.
The victim, a Montebello resident, was at the park with acquaintances at about 4:20 p.m. when he was shot two times, Sgt. Alex Irizibal with the Downey Police Department said today. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
The suspect fled on foot and has not been captured. He is described as a male Hispanic between 15-20 years old.
The shooting may be gang-related, Irizibal said. The investigation is ongoing.
