Free legal consultations available Saturday

DOWNEY – Ferias Legales, a Downey-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will be holding their monthly community legal clinic this Saturday, April 20, at the Barbara J. Riley Community Center from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Various licensed attorneys will be providing free legal consultations in the areas of Immigration Law, Tenants Rights, Family Law, Criminal Defense, Small Claims, Personal Injury, and Civil Rights.

People wishing to become citizens are highly encouraged to attend, as immigration attorneys will be screening for eligibility, advising on the naturalization application, and assisting with fee waiver applications.

Ferias Legales (Spanish for "Legal Fairs") is a Downey-based non-profit focusing on delivering free services to underserved communities while increasing diversity in the legal field.

Appointments are not necessary but are encouraged. Community members are also encouraged to bring all legal documents that may help the attorneys better assess the legal matter.

Covid protocols and recommendations will be followed and anyone feeling symptoms is asked to stay home. Virtual consultations will be offered as well.
