Dear Editor:

There have been terrorist attacks recently in three continents (France, Tunisia, Kuwait). We, however, have been spared. Why?

Is it because they, the terrorists, don't hate us? Is it because they are not smart enough to figure out how to it in the USA?

The answer for both questions is definitely NO. The reason we have not seen any terrorists acts is because of the great work of our security people who keep us safe. We don't hear much about them and that is the way they like it. They go about their business in a professional manner using all the technology available to them to prevent terrorist attacks. It is more effective to prevent a terrorist attack than trying to capture a terrorist who is probably on a suicide mission.

Next time that it has not been possible to prevent a terrorist attack, please remember that that is the exception rather than the rule.

It is incumbent upon us also to be alert to suspicious behaviors and to report them to the authorities. Together with the security professionals we'll keep our country safe.
