DOWNEY - The City Council will decide Tuesday who will become Downey's next mayor.Current mayor Mario Guerra said he will resign the position Tuesday to allow another council member to take over. The catered event usually serves as a recognition of the outgoing mayor. When selected, the new mayor will be immediately sworn into office. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. inside City Council chambers.
