Norman Brown, Gerald Albright to play Cerritos

CERRITOS - Grammy Award-winning duo Norman Brown and Gerald Albright will perform March 15 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.Each will play his own solo hits before jointly concluding the show. Brown became the toast of the soul-jazz circle with his innovative fusion of smooth jazz, pop and R&B. His album "Just Chillin' won a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental and "After the Storm" was gold certified. He has collaborated with Boys II Men and Stevie Wonder, while also working with smooth jazz's biggest figures. With more than 1 million in U.S. record sales, Albright is one of the biggest names in jazz and blues. He was among 10 saxophonists selected to play during President Clinton's inauguration. A native Southern Californian, Albright garnered worldwide acclaim and a slew of Grammy nominations for the albums "New Beginnings," "Sax for Stax" and "Pushing the Envelope." He has worked with a roster of music's biggest talents. During the 80s, he was a highly-requested session musician, playing on albums by Anita Baker, Ray Parker, Olivia Newton-John, The Temptations, the late Whitney Houston and others. He even appeared on the televisions series "A Different World" and "Melrose Place."
