Letter to the Editor: Convention hangover

Dear Editor:

The Republican and Democratic celebrations (conventions) are over and I have a big hangover.

I am an immigrant and a serious student of the American electoral process and I am appalled with the lack of leadership prevalent in the country.

We are now given the opportunity to choose between a woman with no common sense and an arrogant man with no social or political skills for the next President of the United States. We will not be able to select the best candidate but rather choose the least bad.

But I have faith in our checks and balances system and expect that the Judiciary and Congress will keep whoever wins the presidency in line and will not allow him/her to ruin the country. This will give time for new leaders to emerge in both parties in time for the 2020 election.

The country will survive and I will continue to thank my good fortune for the hospitality I have received and the opportunities presented to me and my American born children. God bless the United States of America.
