2 arrested in school burglary

DOWNEY - Police have arrested two juveniles in connection with a burglary Monday night at Sussman Middle School.Officers were dispatched to the school Monday night regarding a burglary that had just occurred, said Sgt. Brian Baker of the Downey Police Department. Officers discovered that the cafeteria had been burglarized and an unknown amount of chips and other snacks had been taken. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot, carrying large bags of unknown items, authorities said. A police forensic specialist discovered evidence pointing to a possible suspect, Baker said. Officials did not describe the evidence but the following day police arrested two juvenile suspects. The suspects were in possession of evidence linking them to the burglary, officials said. The suspects were booked for burglary and transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.
