2 Downey residents killed in traffic collision

DOWNEY — Two Downey residents were killed in a traffic collision in Downey today, authorities said.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:05 pm at Paramount Boulevard and Gardendale Street.

The victims were identified as 52-year-old Emilio Guerrero and his wife, 47-year-old Annabel Guerrero. Emilio worked as a sergeant with the L.A. County Bureau of Investigation and Annabel was a teacher who recently worked for the Downey Unified School District.

Police said a vehicle driven by a 60-year-old South Gate man collided with the vehicle being driven by Emilio.

Authorities did not say if the South Gate man was arrested or if he suffered injuries.
