Animal shelters plea for food

LONG BEACH - The spcaLA animal welfare organization is in need of pet food for dogs, cats, kittens and puppies."This past year, we have seen an influx of shelter pets and our supplies have dwindled," the organization said in a statement. Donations can be made at any of the spcaLA's three locations: the Administrative Office at 5026 W. Jefferson Blvd. in Los Angeles; the South Bay Pet Adoption Center, 12910 Yukon Ave., in Hawthorne; and the Pitchford Companion Animal Village, 7700 E. Spring St., in Long Beach.
