Anna Marie Lillian (Carl) Brislin
December 6, 1927 - February 4, 2026
Our beloved mother, Anna Marie L. Brislin, found peace on February 4, 2026 at the age of 98 when the Lord called her home to eternal life.
Daughter of Jessie May (Smart) Carl and George Heinrich Carl, Anna Marie was born on December 6, 1927 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She went to grade school in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
In 1944, she moved to California with her parents. She later graduated from South Gate High School in South Gate, California. At 20 years old, she married Frank Brislin and lived a life devoted to faith, family, and love.
Anna Marie is survived by her son, George Brislin; her daughters, Anne Bayer, and Peggy Brislin; grandchildren, Frank Brislin, Michelle Malarkey, Shana Lazenby (Mirko), Mandy Morris (Steve), Haley Szymanski, and Lacy Szymanski; great-grandchildren, Joshua Root, Nicholas Root, and Maverick Lazenby, Samantha Lazenby, Ledger Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
At 28 years old, Anna Marie entered the 18th Annual Mrs. America Contest and won the title of Mrs. America of Lynwood, California.
In 1962, Anna Marie and her husband, Frank, ran a steel fabricating business for six years. In 1968, after Frank’s passing, Anna Marie carried the California Contractor’s License in her name and ran the business for another five years.
Anna Marie loved traveling. She witnessed several NASA launchings and landings from 1980 to 1984. Anne Marie was a devoted and active lifelong member of the Presbyterian church. She was an active member and worked in the church office for 27 years at the First Presbyterian Church in Downey, California.
