Barbara “Bobbie” Stacy Samperi

June 16, 1950 – September 5, 2025

Barbara “Bobbie” Stacy Samperi, lifelong resident of Downey, California, passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Downey on June 16, 1950, she graduated from Warren High School in 1968 and later attended Cerritos College.

In 1972, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Daryl Samperi, and together they raised two sons. She worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines and later as a bookkeeper, but her true passion was community service. Barbara volunteered for many years in local PTAs and went on to serve 15 years on the City of Downey’s Community Services Commission. In 1993, she was elected to the Downey Unified School District Board of Education, where she served with distinction for decades.

Her dedication earned her numerous honors, including induction into the Warren High School Hall of Fame in 2013 and recognition as a Downey Distinguished Citizen by the Boy Scouts of America. The administration building at Warren High School proudly bears her name in tribute to her lasting contributions to Downey Unified.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 53 years, Daryl; her sons Justin and Logan; her beloved grandson Hudson; and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on October 4, 2025 from 9:30am to 11:30am at Warren Highschool – Barbara R. Samperi Administration Building, 8141 DePalma Street, Downey CA 90241
