CERRITOS — One of the last living legends of the Chicago Blues, Buddy Guy, is headed to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, August 10, at 7 p.m., as part of his “Damn Right Farewell Tour.” Though the tour’s name suggests a goodbye, the eight-time Grammy winner isn’t hanging up his guitar just yet.
Known for his electrifying performances and blistering guitar work, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is expected to perform a mix of classic hits and new material from his upcoming album, Ain’t Done With the Blues, which drops later this month. Fans can look forward to signature tracks such as Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues, Sweet Home Chicago, and Mustang Sally, along with newer favorites like Gunsmoke Blues and Follow the Money.
Australian blues prodigy Taj Farrant will open the evening, adding to what promises to be an unforgettable night of soulful music and musical storytelling.
At 87 years old, Guy remains a dynamic force in the industry. He recently appeared in the supernatural thriller Sinners and continues to earn accolades for his work, including a National Medal of Arts and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association. His influence spans generations, with artists like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan all citing him as a key inspiration.
Limited tickets remain, starting at $50, and are available at cerritoscenter.com or by calling (562) 916-8500.
