Cancer claims Christopher Lueke, 49

DOWNEY - Christopher Conrad Lueke, a lifelong resident of Downey, passed away May 2 after a seven-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was 49.He spent his last days at home surrounded by family. Five days before he died, he was able to walk his daughter down the aisle and dance at her wedding. Lueke married his wife, Monica Madrazo, 25 years ago at St. Raymond's Catholic Church. They had two children: Krista Masotto and Scott Lueke. He was born Oct. 11, 1962. After graduating from Warren High School and Cerritos College, he worked at KT Electronics and the Port of Long Beach as an IT manager. He is survived by his mother, Joan Lueke; son-in-law, Nick Masotto; siblings, Danette and John Buckley, Laura and Gary Kramer, Barbara Brooks-Mall and Stephen Lueke; and mother-in-law, Monica Pasquel. He was predeceased by his father, Conrad Lueke. Services were held Tuesday at St. Raymond's, where he was active in church programs. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations in his name to the City of Hope, designated for treatment of myeloma patients.
