CareMore creates foundation

CERRITOS - CareMore has established a not-for-profit foundation to grant funds, resources and recognition to local senior-based community organizations, the health plan announced last week.The CareMore Foundation was established and funded through a donation from CareMore's parent company, CareMore Medical Enterprises, based in Cerritos. A board of directors will guide the foundation while an advisory committee is charged with its daily operations, officials said. There are currently many unmet critical health needs for seniors that go unaddressed due to a lack of resources at the community level, said Leeba Lessin, president of CareMore. The foundation will initially provide grants to local senior-focused organizations. CareMore will eventually lend other resources and volunteer support, Lessin said.
