Carlson named 'Woman of the Year'

DOWNEY - The Eldorado Chapter of the American Business Women's Associated named Barbara Carlson as its chapter Woman of the Year.She was honored at the chapter's 45th anniversary celebration on April 21. Carlson has been a member of ABWA for 35 years, and has served as a chapter officer many times. She has chaired numerous committees and was a chapter delegate to the Los Angeles Area Council of ABWA. In addition to her involvement with ABWA, Carlson volunteers every Tuesday at Whittier Hospital Medical Center. The local ABWA meets at the Rio Hondo Event Center the third Wednesday of the month. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner, speaker and a brief business meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Anne Bayer will be guest speaker on Wednesday.
